Compassion Resilience, action
When disaster struck, SCC employees turned compassion into action.
When floodwaters tore through Valencia in October last year, homes were destroyed, and families were left picking up the pieces.
Among them was Daniel Hernández Real, a veteran in Spain’s Professional Services division, based in Valencia, whose home was severely damaged. He lost not just essentials, but decades of memories.
Yet in the midst of devastation, it became clear that he wasn’t facing it alone, as his SCC colleagues stepped up and lent a hand.
Rebuilding through teamwork
As soon as colleagues heard what had happened, they took immediate action. A company-wide initiative was launched to collect donations, helping Daniel and his family rebuild their lives. Contributions flooded in. Not only from close teammates, but from employees across SCC Spain. The financial support was critical, but perhaps even more importantly, Daniel’s colleagues showed up in person.
"The solidarity of my colleagues was inspiring," Daniel shared. "They organised a group of volunteers to help us with the cleaning and removal of damaged furniture, while SCC Spain’s understanding and unconditional support during this difficult time allowed me to prioritise my family. It made an already very complicated situation much more bearable."

Looking to the future
Support that makes a difference
SCC Spain’s leadership praised the spontaneous effort, reinforcing the company’s commitment to putting people first.
"We are proud of how our team rallied around Daniel," said Arturo Moncada, SCC Spain’s General Manager. "This is the spirit of SCC. When one of us faces a challenge, we all step up."
This level of support isn’t new to Daniel. Having been with SCC Spain since 2005, he recalls feeling welcomed from his very first interview.
"Even back then, I sensed the close working atmosphere," he says. “It’s something that has continued and intensified over the years. That closeness has always been a constant."
Looking to the future
Despite the upheaval, knowing his team had his back allowed Daniel to remain focused on his work, helping local businesses rebuild and reconnect.
A committed team player, he’s been part of SCC Spain’s Professional Services department for over 15 years, a role he describes as both dynamic and rewarding. "Teamwork is absolutely one of the pillars of SCC’s success," he says. "Our department isn’t just a group of experienced specialists - we’re colleagues who truly support one another."
Now, looking ahead, Daniel is focused on the future. "I look forward with enthusiasm," he adds. "Technology is evolving, and I’m excited to be part of this great team as we rise to new challenges together."
Throughout the crisis, SCC Spain's Valencia branch worked hard to help local businesses affected by the floods, mitigating the economic impact of the disaster on their operations, and further strengthening the company's relationships with it's growing customer base.
